Roofers Woking
Genuinely One of the Most Varied Towns We Cover
My name's John Quilligan. Roofing has been in my family for three generations, and Woking is one of the few towns where you can genuinely drive five minutes and go from quoting a Victorian terrace with original slate and a narrow valley gutter, to a 1970s Goldsworth Park semi with standard concrete tile, to a residential tower where the roof isn't something we'd even be called out for.
That range matters more than it sounds. A lot of roofers quote a town on autopilot, one standard material list, one assumed property age, one generic price band, because most towns don't demand anything else. Woking does. The population here has grown from under 5,000 in the mid-1800s to over 92,000 today, almost entirely through distinct waves of development that never fully replaced what came before, so the older housing sits right alongside the newer without one era ever really dominating the whole town.
We don't quote Woking on autopilot. Every job starts with us actually looking at what generation of building we're standing in front of, because guessing that wrong is exactly how a repair ends up using the wrong material or a quote misses the real scope of the work.

Backed By More Than Just Our Word
Every new roof we install carries a 25-year guarantee. As CORC members, established in 1985, we also offer insurance-backed protection on top of that, so your cover holds independently of us, not just as a promise from our business. Repairs are covered for up to 10 years, also in writing.
We are verified members of TrustATrader and Checkatrade. Every job in Woking is carried out by our own uniformed, insured team, never subcontracted out to whoever is free that week.

What Customers Say About First Rate Roofing
Very Different Roofs Depending on the Neighbourhood
Woking's residential character genuinely changes street by street. Hook Heath and areas like The Hockering were originally developed for wealthy London commuters, and still carry substantial period properties with correspondingly large, complex rooflines, multiple chimneys, and original slate or clay tile that needs proper matching, not a generic repair. Knaphill and St John's carry a more standard Victorian terrace character, similar to what we see closer to central London, with narrower rooflines and the kind of ageing flashing and valley gutters that come with that era.
Goldsworth Park is a different generation entirely, a planned community of around 5,000 homes built through the 1970s and 80s, with construction standards, materials, and typical faults specific to that period rather than anything Victorian or Edwardian. West Byfleet and Pyrford add yet another layer, generally more spacious, later-20th-century family housing.
We don't quote Woking as if it's one type of property. A repair method that's right for a 1970s Goldsworth Park semi is often wrong for a Victorian terrace in Knaphill, and getting that distinction right before recommending anything is exactly why we inspect properly rather than estimate from a general description of the area.

How To Book Our Roofing Services
The Town Centre Isn't Where Most of Our Work Happens
Woking's town centre has changed dramatically over the last few decades. Large parts of the original Victorian centre were demolished during redevelopment, and the area now includes genuinely major modern construction, including residential towers reaching over 30 storeys as part of a town centre masterplan running into hundreds of millions of pounds. If you're in one of these newer town centre developments, your roof and building envelope are almost certainly managed through a developer or a managing agent rather than something an independent roofer like us would typically be called out for.
Our actual work in Woking sits mostly in the residential streets around the centre, not the high-rise developments themselves, older properties in Horsell, Pyrford, Old Woking, and Byfleet in particular, where genuine conservation areas and older buildings, including medieval parish churches in some of the original villages, still exist despite how much the town centre itself has changed. These outlying areas retain the kind of period roofing detail, and sometimes the planning protections, that the redeveloped centre largely lost.
If you're unsure whether your specific property falls into new-build managed territory or independent older housing, we'll tell you honestly during the inspection, rather than take on a job that's really a developer's responsibility.

Roofing Questions We Get Asked in Woking
My property is in one of the newer town centre developments. Can you help with a roof issue? Possibly, but it's worth checking first whether your building is managed through a developer or managing agent, since that's common for newer high-rise developments in central Woking and roofing responsibility often sits with them rather than an independent contractor. We'll point you in the right direction if that applies.
Do you cover the villages around Woking, like Horsell, Pyrford, and Old Woking, not just the town itself? Yes, and this is genuinely where a lot of our work in the area happens, since these villages retain more of the original period housing stock than the heavily redeveloped town centre.
My house is in Goldsworth Park. Does its age as a 1970s-80s property matter for repairs? Yes, materials and typical fault patterns from that era are different from Victorian or Edwardian housing. We identify the actual construction period during the inspection rather than assume based on the wider area's reputation.
How quickly can you get someone out? Same day in most cases, seven days a week.
Do you charge for the inspection? No. No call-out fee, ever, regardless of what the inspection finds.
